The United Nations' Globally Harmonised System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS), provides globally uniform physical, environmental, and health and safety information on hazardous chemical substances and mixtures. Labelling is a critical part of GHS legislation, and River Labels & Labelling are experts in the field of labels for this purpose.

We produce GHS compliant labels to exacting standards, on a wide range of materials to suit every variable you can come across when labelling chemical and hazardous products. Expertise and experience also enables us to fully appreciate the different types of in-house printers used by customers to add product details to labels, and we produce labels in different formats to suit every option. If you prefer your labels on sheets for a laser printer (typically A4), then we stock raw materials and cutters that are ideal for this. Or, if you overprint your labels using thermal transfer printers, we have got that covered too, and we can offer labels either on rolls or in perforated fanfolds for this purpose.  We even supply the thermal ribbons as well.

BS5609 Compliant Labels

Chemicals and dangerous goods that are transported by sea are subject to stringent safety regulations, and they must be labelled to comply with BS5609 standards. To comply with the BS5609 legislation, labels on any drum or container that is washed overboard, will need to remain intact on the product, and remain legible after 3 months in seawater.
